As you can see by watching my newest deviations, I've been to Mallorca last week.
In german speaking countries (of which Austria is one, in fact), the general impression of Mallorca is somewhat biased.
Because of the huge amounts of Germans going there - mainly for roasting under the sun and partying like no tomorrow -
it's also ironically considered to be Germany's 17th Bundesland (federal state).
So looking back I have to say this is somewhat true.
When walking through the streets and you need to ask somebody something, you'd better ask in german, for the chance of being understood will be higher then asking in spanish/catalán.
Still though, this island is wonderful. Of course it's a great destination for lying on the beach etc. but what's often overseen is,
that Mallorca is also a very good destination for sportives, culturally interested people and - photographers.
When I arrived I literally had to stop every 10th step to watch the beautiful scenery.
There is so much awesomeness to discover here, you really don't know where to begin.
So when you are looking for where to go next vacation - you're doing nothing wrong with Mallorca, really!
